Configure the Modality
Introduction
Once the AdvaPACS Gateway, Local AE, and Remote AE have been configured, the modality must be updated with the DICOM connection details for the Gateway. These details allow the modality to send studies to the DICOM server running on the AdvaPACS Gateway. The modality will typically need the following details:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| AE Title | The AE Title of the Local AE configured in AdvaPACS. |
| Port | The port configured on the Local AE. |
| Hostname or IP address | The network address of the machine running the AdvaPACS Gateway. |
The exact steps for configuring a modality vary by manufacturer and model. If you are unsure where to enter these values, contact your IT team or the modality vendor’s technical support.
Find the Local AE Title and port
The AE Title and port can be found from the Local AEs screen in AdvaPACS.
- Go to Configuration.
- Open DICOM.
- Select Local AEs.
- Locate the Local AE created for the modality connection.
- Copy the AE Title and Port.
These values should be entered into the modality as the destination DICOM server details.
Find the Gateway hostname or IP address
The modality also needs to know where the AdvaPACS Gateway is running on the local network.
To find the Gateway details:
- Go to Configuration.
- Open Gateways.
- Select the relevant Gateway.
- Review the Gateway connection details.
Use the hostname or IP address that is reachable from the modality.
For AdvaPACS Gateways running in Docker without network_mode: host, the IP address displayed in AdvaPACS may be the container IP rather than the host machine IP. In this case, use the IP address of the host machine running Docker.
