AdvaPACS Release 20261028074900

· 6 min read

This release lets the AdvaPACS Gateway send webhooks and FHIR Subscriptions and receive images over IPv6, adds laterality-aware report templates, and makes auto-next reading faster by preloading the next study.

Gradual rollout

AdvaPACS is rolled out gradually, so not every organization sees a release at the same time. This release begins rolling out on November 2, 2026, 03:00 UTC and may take a few days to reach you — if you don't see these changes right away, check back shortly.

New Features

Webhooks and FHIR Subscriptions from the AdvaPACS Gateway

Webhooks and FHIR Subscriptions can now be sent from a chosen AdvaPACS Gateway. This lets notifications reach systems on your local network that can't be reached from the internet, without opening extra firewall access.

IPv6 support for the AdvaPACS Gateway

The AdvaPACS Gateway now accepts incoming DICOM connections over IPv6 as well as IPv4, so sites moving to IPv6 networks can send images to it directly.

Improvements

Laterality for report templates

Report templates in the Reporting Worklist can now be given a laterality, and you can search templates by laterality in the report editor. Templates can also be excluded for specific users, so each reader sees only the templates relevant to them.

Faster auto-next reading

When working through studies with auto-next in AdvaView, the next study is now loaded in the background, so it opens faster when you move on. Administrators can also configure AdvaView's caching behavior.

Turn automatic viewer launch on or off

Not every workflow needs images. For workflows where image review isn't required, automatic viewer launch can now be turned off, so the viewer no longer opens on its own and users can get straight to the task at hand. The viewer can still be opened manually whenever images are needed.

Reason required for break-glass access

Break-glass access to a patient's medical record now requires a reason. The reason is recorded, making emergency access easier to review and audit.

Orders can now be linked directly from the order details in the Reporting Worklist, without leaving your current workflow.

More Reporting Worklist improvements

Board names are no longer restricted, so you can name boards however suits your team. The scanned documents pane now shows all documents without needing to click "show more", and the documents and prior reports viewer toolbar now has hover tooltips. Filters in Incomplete and Critical Results are kept when you come back to them, and reported orders now leave the list promptly instead of staying behind as unlocked.

More detail in the audit log

Changes to orders, including Reporting Worklist assignment changes, are now recorded in the audit log, making it easier to trace who changed what and when.

IP allow list improvements

IP allow lists now accept both IPv4 and IPv6 address ranges, and IP filtering can be applied to individual API keys, giving administrators finer control over where integrations can connect from.

Safer anonymized downloads

Anonymized downloads now leave out images flagged as containing burned-in patient information, reducing the risk of identifiable details being shared.

Faster sending from the AdvaPACS Gateway

The AdvaPACS Gateway now sends images to remote devices more efficiently, so exports and transfers complete faster.

Study validation improvements

The study validation list now has a larger page size, sorts by date, and supports bulk delete, making it quicker to work through large numbers of studies.

Improved search for Clinician Portal users

Administrators can now search for Clinician Portal users more easily, which helps when managing access for large numbers of clinicians.

Easier filtering across AdvaPACS

Filters now include a search box, so you can quickly find the option you need in long lists.

Code System Mappings moved to Code Management

Code System Mappings now live in Code Management, keeping all code-related settings in one place.

Clearer emails to users

Emails sent to users now include your organization's site address, so recipients know exactly which AdvaPACS site the message relates to.

Better PDF viewing

PDF documents now automatically fit the viewer window when opened, so they're readable straight away.

Improved RADPAIR report display

Reports from RADPAIR are now displayed more clearly within AdvaPACS.

FHIR DocumentReference patient references

FHIR DocumentReference resources can now refer to the patient by identifier rather than requiring an internal ID, which makes integrations simpler to build.

Interface polish

Action buttons in the Orders list now stay visible while you scroll, chat colors are easier to read, badges and alerts use updated branding colors, and Assigning Authority details now show their ID. Accession number sequences are now selected from a dropdown when working with orders.
