Practitioner Information
Standard HL7 order messages typically focus on practitioner identification rather than practitioner contact information. AdvaPACS addresses this limitation through the PractitionerInformation ZAP segment, which allows detailed practitioner data to be exchanged as part of the HL7 interface.
The segment is optional and can be used whenever additional practitioner details need to be maintained within AdvaPACS.
Supported Message Types
The PractitionerInformation ZAP segment can be included in:
- ORM (Order Message)
- OMI (Imaging Order Message)
Multiple practitioner information segments can be included within a single message when details for multiple practitioners need to be supplied (e.g., ordering provider, referring provider, reporting provider).
